Even though I am a musician, my household wasn’t a musical one at all. Luckily we did have a radio and occasionally our local radio station (WAAF) would have Metallica marathon weekends, where they just played back to back Metallica. I probably would have never had exposure to this song or a lot of other great music that defines my life if it weren’t for the radio. Thank you, radio!
Metallica was definitely my gateway drug into the land of heavier music, followed quickly behind by Pantera a few years later. I think even at a young age, I was destined to be into loud music.
P.S. Dear Metallica: why are you being so stingy and not allowing embedding of your official videos? Get with the times!
