Ok so I recently bought a Crockpot and I have to admit: I am OBSESSED with it. It is so nice to come home from a long day of work to a real dinner. So the next few posts are going to be slow cooker recipes that I’ve tried and have worked out well. Here’s the first, which features pork chops and apples.

Ingredients for Pork Chops in Slow Cooker

pork chops (i used two)

2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced

1 small onion, sliced

3 TBSP honey

1 TBSP dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon salt

a few cranks of crushed pepper

Directions For Pork in Crock Pot

  1. Place pork chops in bottom of slow cooker
  2. Dump the rest of the ingredients on top of the pork
  3. turn slow cooker on low for 7 and a half hours

Side Dishes

I made some mashed potatoes and green beans for the side. For the mashed potatoes, I used the little red potatoes and chopped them, boiled them and then mashed them with the skins on (german style). I mashed in 1/4 cup of butter. For the green beans, I just stir fried them a little in a frying pan, with a tiny bit of butter.
