I think it’s great that we are trying to save the environment and such, but why can’t our government ban things that are hurting people (like cigarettes), rather than things that HELP keep people alive?
I am still very angry at whoever made the decision to ban asthma inhalers containing CFCs (CFC Inhaler Ban). Now I’m more angry, because the inhaler that worked for me was banned in 2008, and I’m just now finding out that they have delayed banning the over the counter ones until this year. That is not fair. They should have all been banned and removed from the market at the same time.
On top of that, the new RX inhalers do not work for me.
First I was given pro air hfa. It made my attacks WAY worse.
Then I tried Proventil. Bad move – horrible headache for days after and it made me wheeze more.
I finally settled on the most expensive (go figure) – Ventolin. It sort of works, but is not the instant relief I would get from the old Armstrong inhaler – I used to feel better in less than a minute. This is hours of slow recovery. I took my inhaler at 2pm today and I am still feeling weird in my lungs, and have been dizzy on and off all day.
Luckily I personally have had very mild asthma the last few years (compared to a few years ago, when my attacks were severe), but I am absolutely terrified when I start getting a cold.
Dear Government: You are stupid.
